Our Objective

Our objective at MyBOATSgear is to inform & educate boaters about the latest and best boating products. We provide information to make your boating gear and equipment decisions easier.

We review all the products at Boat shows, and add other cool gear we find from multiple other sources. We then pick the best gear and put them into a format that you can easily browse.

Because we do the work looking for the best gear, you save lots of time and energy.

Product guidelines

We look at hundreds of products and pick only the best ones. Some of the features we look for are;

	Benefits to boaters
	Price
	Safety
	Ease of use

We do not review bad or average products as it would be a waste of time & space. We would rather concentrate of the best gear.

MyBOATSgear provides educational newsletters to enable boaters to better understand new and old technology. List of newsletter topics

Sign up for our newsletters and you will learn about the best products in a category & the latest gear coming out. Newsletters are focused on certain equipment functions. For example we have newsletters on all sorts of communications. You can learn about the technology involved and where its going along with equipment used and manufacturers that supply the relevant goods.

Other newsletters cover boats and the equipment they use. We found much interest in showing equipment in a environment that indicates its use. Hence if we find a vessel with interesting and different equipment we will bring it to you.

Who are we

MyBOATSgear was founded by Mike Hobson. This was after seeing many potentially popular products go almost unnoticed and looked for a place where all good new products could get promoted.

Mike has been in the marine industry his whole working life (30 yrs) , starting with a diploma in Yacht Design and going on to build boats, design boats, outfitting boats and commissioning boats. Mike's experience in design and building a boat from top to bottom and sea trialing many boats has allowed him to understand all aspects of the products that go into a boat, whether they are built into the boat from the manufacturer or added after market accessories.

Technology has gotten so much better over the years and the benefits are there for all of us. The obvious category that benefits from technology is electronics and the internet. Also we can look at fibers like carbon which helps us build lighter, stronger, stiffer structures which allow for new propulsion systems to meld with the lighter structures. Propulsion systems in sailboats include stiff carbon masts lighter sails and more powerful sails. In powerboats new engines produce more power and eat up less gas.

Also technology is abound in the after sales market. Small medium and large companies are producing new products that make our boating life easier, safer and save time. MyBoatsGear exposes these products and the benefits.

Our Goal

Manufacturers are continually producing new and exciting products and our goal is to help bring these to the attention of the boating public.

By providing unique information we help you to learn about products you may not have heard of, or know where to buy.
