Chain Snubber

Added to MyBoatsGear on 6/1/2008

Chain SnubberOur Review
This chain snubber is cheap and effective and easy to use. It is a good idea to relieve the load on your Windlass from jerking loads due to the anchor in pitching waves. The simple snubber can hold onto the chain and be tied off onto a cleat to secure the anchor, even if you do not have a Windlass.

C. Sherman Johnson Marine harware's Description

DESCRIPTION Mini Anchor Chain Tensioner

"Captain Hook" Chain Snubber Our new "Captain Hook" Chain Snubber can be used a few different ways:

1. Use the claw and attached line to relieve tension from your windlass while anchored by snubbing the chain overboard and tying off the line to a cleat or samson post on deck.

2. Use the snubber on deck for security to hold the chain in your anchor roller and tying off on a cleat while under way for piece of mind.

3. Relieve the tension on the windlass (like in 1) by attaching the snubber to the chain in the anchor roller and pulling back and tying off securily. All T-316 stainless, includes 12ft of 1/2" 3-strand nylon with professional eye splice. CAT. NO. 46-465 46-465-5 46-475 46-475-5
