Roffers Ocean Fishing Forecasting ServiceOur Review
If you fish offshore, you need good information to find the best areas for fishing. There are tools you can use that indicate places where certain fish will congregate. Important indicators include; seawater temperature, water mass boundaries, Gulfstream location, eddies etc. You can look yourself at charts and online to figure where to go, but to get the best information the ROFFS fishing report, is a simple $64 per analysis, which will tell you the best places to fish.

Many top sport fisherman use ROFFS Fishing reports. The ROFFS report is like a weather service. You give them the time and area you are fishing and they will give you the best locations for finding certain species of fish.

The Chart, left, is from the sample analysis for Charlestown to Caper Fear, see link below, provided by ROFFS. The following is extracted form the sample analysis. “The hot spot dots, mark the areas where bait concentrations are expected and where fishing action are expected to be better compared with other (non-marked) areas. It is very important to use your sea surface temperature (sst°) gauge to locate the boundaries of the water masses, which are outlined. Arrows indicate the main current direction. Numbers inside of the dots indicate the number of consecutive days that we have seen favorable conditions in that location”.

Costs for the ROFFS forecast are; yearly unlimited plan is $2,000 and for 36 reports the cost is $1,300 or $64 per individual analysis. ROFFS are proud of their service and promote the fact that their customers have won awards in 441 categories in 115 major tournaments.

Roffers Ocean Fishing Forecasting Service's Description
Roffers Ocean Fishing Forecasting Service, Inc. (ROFFS™) is a scientific consulting company based in Miami and West Melbourne, Florida (U.S.A.) that is involved with fisheries oceanography, environmental science, and satellite remote sensing.

Founded in 1987 by Mitchell A. Roffer (Ph.D.), we are best known for our tactical and strategic fisheries forecasts that are the result of the integration of satellite and other fisheries oceanographic data. However, we are intensively involved in a broad range of projects such as ship routing, oil and gas drilling operations, seismic and fish surveys, fisheries development, aquaculture, environmental monitoring, and applied scientific research.

Why should we use ROFFS™ when there are satellite images on the Web?

ROFFS™ provides a fishing forecasting analysis not static sea surface temperature, static ocean color pictures or unvalidated ocean models. We provide an interpretation of oceanographic information for fishing. We integrate data from at least six high resolution satellites (NOAA & NASA, twice a day, infrared and ocean color) along with other oceanographic and meteorological data to provide a comprehensive fishing product that is unequaled. We pinpoint the hot spot areas with navigational coordinates, indicate how long the conditions have been favorable, show the significant ocean features (temperature, color, current direction, etc.), and provide a text description - interpretation. Colorized images and models supplied by other services, including those available on the internet, are not fishing analyses. They do not provide the temperature resolution nor the accuracy and precision of navigation that we provide. Single satellite images can not provide the important information about water motion that is critical to forecasting fishing hot spots. Observing water motion from satellite imagery in real-time and relating it to present and future fishing success is our expertise.
